Overview
As a Pre-Sales Engineer focused on SASE/SSE and IAM, you live at the intersection of sales and technology. You qualify opportunities, craft target architectures, and lead PoCs for enterprise customers, translating security and connectivity challenges into vendor-backed designs. You collaborate with strategic partners and ensure a smooth handover to delivery teams after deals close. This hands-on role combines technical depth with client-facing leadership in a fast-paced security/Networking context. You’ll shape security-aware network solutions for large, hybrid environments and drive impactful pre-sales outcomes.
Verantwoordelijkheden
- Qualify opportunities technically with the account manager and identify fit, risks, and competitive position
- Lead discovery sessions with security, network, and identity teams to capture requirements
- Present SASE/SSE and IAM propositions to audiences from engineers to CISO-level
- Produce high-level and low-level designs for SASE/SSE rollouts including SWG, CASB, ZTNA, DLP, RBI, FWaaS
- Design IAM integrations covering SSO, MFA, conditional access, and identity-driven policy in SASE platforms
- Map designs to customer compliance drivers (NIS2, ISO 27001, DORA where applicable)
- Build and run PoCs on at least two SASE/SSE platforms with configured tenants, policies, connectors, and client agents
- Define measurable PoC success criteria and document outcomes
- Maintain personal demo environments and stay current with vendor platforms
- Own the technical response to RFPs and tenders: architecture, BOM, assumptions, risks
- Collaborate with bid team to ensure technically accurate, deliverable, and properly priced proposals
- Produce clear handover documentation for professional services and managed services teams
- Feed field insights back to portfolio and vendor alliance teams and flag recurring gaps or new demands
- Support account managers with account planning for named enterprise accounts
Belangrijkste vereisten
- 4-7 years in pre-sales, solution architecture, or senior engineering in cybersecurity or enterprise networking
- Hands-on experience with at least one major SASE/SSE platform in production or large-scale PoC (Netskope, Zscaler, Prisma Access, Fortinet FortiSASE, or Cisco Secure Access)
- Knowledge of IAM concepts and at least one enterprise IAM platform (e.g. Entra ID, Okta, Ping)
- Solid grounding in routing, DNS, TLS, IPsec, SD-WAN, and identity federation (SAML, OIDC, SCIM)
- Experience leading customer-facing technical workshops and PoCs
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
- One current vendor certification in a SASE/SSE or IAM platform (additional certifications welcome)
