Job Description
For our location in Leiden, we are looking for an enthusiastic operator to join our pilot plant team. As part of this team, you will be responsible for carrying out the USP and DSP processes for the production of antibodies and other biologics. The team produces the first batches of new products to scale and are a corner stone in the pipeline toward new medicines.
You will be required to adhere to work in a clean room under GMP guidelines, and your activities will include:
• Medium preparation;
• Assembly and disassembly of bioreactors of 250L, 500L and 1000L size;
• Upstream processing (Fermentation) of various cell lines and the monitoring of the process;
• Downstream processing of the products using for example POD filtration, column chromatography, Planova filtration and UFDF;
• Analysis of samples from the production process to ensure compliance to the specifications is being met;
• Documentation and data entry following GMP guidelines;
• Batch record review as required;
• Participation in 5S lab checks;
• Proactively working to improve processes or your working environment through continuous improvements;
Qualifications
• MLO or HBO (BSc) degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences or related sciences;
• Experience with fermentation or DSP in the lab or a production environment is preferred;
• Experience in a pharmaceutical environment and knowledge of GMP is preferred;
• You are flexible and proactive;
• You enjoy working in a team and communicate well;
• You are accurate, and have great attention to detail;
• You can work independently;
• You are a quick learner who strives to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment;
• You are self-motivated with a positive attitude;
• You enjoy volunteering your ideas and working on continuously improving your environment.
• Able to work in shifts:
USP: weekdays and weekends;
DSP: morning shift (07.00-15.30), evening shift (15.00-23.30) and night shift (23.00-07.30);
• You are fluent in English (Spoken/written).
