The Opportunity:
Je voert dagelijkse taken uit op het gebied van voorraad- en materiaalbeheer bij klantlocaties, volgens vastgestelde standaarden en procedures. Je werkzaamheden bestaan uit het ontvangen, inspecteren, registreren, correct opslaan en tijdig distribueren van inkomende en uitgaande materialen naar eindgebruikers.
De problemen die je tegenkomt zijn meestal terugkerend en de oplossingen zijn doorgaans bekend of voorgeschreven. Denk aan inkomende zendingen met ontbrekende of beschadigde items, verschillen tussen systeemgegevens en de fysieke voorraad, of materialen die op de verkeerde locatie liggen, wat leidt tot inefficiënties. Complexere problemen, zoals verstoringen in de supply chain of systeem-/softwarestoringen, los je op door je ervaring te gebruiken en beschikbare ondersteuning in te schakelen.
Je communiceert activiteitenrapportages, service level‑indicatoren en andere informatie die enige toelichting of interpretatie vraagt aan teamleden, supervisors of klanten.
English version:
Executes day-to-day inventory & material management tasks at customer facilities, following a defined standard output or set of procedures. Tasks include receiving, inspection, inventory logging, proper storage, and timely distribution of inbound and outbound materials to end users. Problems and issues faced are generally recurring and solutions are typically known and/or prescribed. Examples are: inbound shipments arriving with missing or damaged items, discrepancies between system records and physical stock, or items stored in incorrect locations, leading to inefficiencies in retrieval. More complex problems, like supply chain interruptions or system/software malfunctions, are solved by applying methods learned through experience and/or using available support. Communicates activity records, service level metrics and other information requiring some explanation or interpretation to team members, supervisors or customers.
Je werkt nauw samen met productie- en manufacturingteams van de klant om vraagvoorspellingen te begrijpen, materiaalbatches te plannen en prijzen te beoordelen. Je fungeert als schakel tussen klant en leverancier voor product sourcing.
Je voert voorraad-, inkoop- en kwaliteitsgegevens in binnen Avantor‑ en klantensystemen en ondersteunt bij het aanmaken van leveranciers en artikelen. Daarnaast help je bij het kwalificeren van nieuwe leveranciers buiten Avantor en beoordeel je contracten.
Je bent verantwoordelijk voor het opzetten en onderhouden van standing orders, coördineert materiaalleveringen en installaties, en ondersteunt bij spoedleveringen. Je verwerkt wijzigingsmeldingen (engineering changes, part‑updates, toevoegingen/verwijderingen van materialen).
Je onderhandelt namens de klant met Avantor‑ en externe leveranciers en levert rapportages over materiaalplanning, openstaande orders en KPI’s. Je zorgt voor naleving van FDA-, cGMP‑ en ISO9000‑richtlijnen.
Je werkt mee aan het oplossen van non‑conformiteiten van grondstoffen, inclusief klachtenregistratie, leveranciersonderzoek, root cause‑analyse en SCAR‑opvolging. Je verwerkt internationale, nationale en kapitaalorders en verzorgt factuurafstemming.
Daarnaast bied je ondersteuning bij audits, neem je deel aan leveranciersbeurzen en verzorg je algemene customer service (orders, offertes, samples, retouren, facturatievragen). Andere taken kunnen worden toegewezen.

Consults with customer production lines and manufacturing groups to understand demand forecasts; schedules material lots and reviews pricing.
Serves as a liaison between the customer and supplier for product sourcing.
Enters inventory, purchasing, and QC data into applicable Avantor and customer systems; assists in 3rd party vendor and item set-up.
Assists in qualifying new suppliers not through Avantor.
Reviews and interprets contracts.
Responsible for standing order set-up and maintenance within Avantor and customer systems for planning.
Coordinates material delivery and set-up/installation; assists with emergency deliveries.
Change Notification compliance – updates engineering change orders, part# updates, adding/deleting materials when needed.
Liaison for customer to negotiate pricing with Avantor and non- Avantor suppliers seeking beneficial supplier agreements.
Provides reporting on material planning, open order, metrics, etc.
Ensures compliance to FDA, CGMP and ISO9000.
Works with appropriate parties to resolve nonconformance issues for raw materials; documents complaints, supplier investigation, root cause analysis of non-conformance, supplier corrective action (SCAR), and pre-planned deviations.
Processes International, domestic and capital orders; reconciles invoices.
Provides audit support and attends vendor shows as needed.
Provides general Customer Service assistance: order processing, quotes, sample requests, returns, billing resolution.
Perform other duties as assigned.
KWALIFICATIES/QUALIFICATIONS
– High school diploma required; Associates or Bachelors degree in Logistics/ Supply Chain desirable
– 1-2 years of procurement, expediting, order management, and/or business experience
– Drivers License (B) is a must
KENNIS/KNOWLEDGE (Those necessary to perform the job competently)
– Proven order management, forecasting knowledge, and/or expediting experience.
– Proficiency with MS Office suite (Expert level skills in Excel and Access)/SAP experience highly desirable.
– Ability to work independently to prioritize multiple competing tasks
– Solid written and verbal communication skills in English
– Strong analytical skills
– Formal problem solving training highly desirable.
– Familiarity with contracts desirable.
– Must work 10 weeks of weekend work every year. ( will be planned in upfront )
