BaseClear was founded in 1993, and ever since has been a pioneer in genomic analysis. Understanding and applying the microbial word is incredibly important for improving human and animal health, and for a sustainable future of our planet. BaseClear has decades of experience and expertise in microbial DNA research. Our team creates innovative solutions that accelerate the understanding and use of microorganisms.

We have approximately 60 employees and are proudly located in the heart of the thriving Leiden Bio Science Park. To strengthen our team, we are currently looking for a: Facility Intern (32 – 40 hours per week)

Internship
The Facility department at BaseClear is seeking an intern responsible for Facility Management and Information System (FMIS) development. This internship will allow you to apply your facility management knowledge in a practical setting. Having an predicted agenda for our operators to plan work and be aware of upcoming preventive maintenance is crucial to keep a facility running smoothly.

Main tasks during your internship

  • Integrating periodic maintenance planning and reporting into FMIS.
  • Assessing and evaluating BaseClear’s facility suppliers.
  • Improving and setting up Service Level Agreements with suppliers.
  • Handling critical and day-to-day tickets in FMIS.
    You will be guided and supervised by the Equipment & Facility Manager, work within a motivated team, and collaborate closely with Production Manager, IT, and the facility team to achieve these tasks.

  • In the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management.
  • Good communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Basic knowledge of finances, software configuration skills, and self-learning abilities are a plus.
  • Background or interest in working in a life science environment is a plus.

    • As a person, you are enthusiastic, independent, flexible, accurate, and have a “can-do” mentality.

    What we offer
    We offer a challenging internship (32-40 hours per week) in a high-tech company. The internship starts ideally in September 2024 and lasts for 4-6 months. Compensation is €330 gross per month based on a 40-hour work week.
