We are looking for a co-founder to lead MitoTarget Therapeutics , an exciting new venture in Mitochondrial Health and Regenerative Medicine.

As Co‑Founder, you will drive the project to hit critical milestones with a strategic exit in mind. You will be paired with the technology at the point of incorporation, backed by the scientific and strategic infrastructure of Andesfenix.
The technology
Mitochondrial dysfunction is a critical bottleneck in aging, chronic degenerative diseases, and metabolic health. MitoTarget is developing cutting‑edge therapeutic frameworks to restore mitochondrial function and cellular energy. Based on validated, patent‑pending research, our approach offers a science‑first solution that combines the curative potential of advanced therapies with the scalability of traditional biologics. Already past the initial discovery phase and backed by peer‑reviewed publications, MitoTarget is ready to be transitioned into a high‑growth startup within Europe's most vibrant life sciences clusters.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Purpose‑Driven Fundraising: Secure the right funding at the right stage, from innovation grants and prizes to private angel checks and institutional VC.
- Business Development: Improve the current go‑to‑market strategy by aligning diverse stakeholders around a shared medical and commercial purpose.
- Leadership: Build a motivated team, fostering trust and bridging the gap between deep‑tech R&D and market impact.
- Strategic Alignment: Work closely with technical leaders to ensure R&D timelines and resource allocation are tightly aligned with commercial objectives.
Requirements (Dual‑Track Profile)
We are looking for a partner who brings either high‑level business experience or a deep scientific track record:
- Business Experience: You have a background in business development, operations, or project management. You understand how to take a project from an idea to a legal entity and have the “hustle” required to secure early interest and capital.
OR
- Scientific Excellence: You possess research experience in Pharmacology, Mitochondrial Biology, or Molecular Medicine . You are looking to transition from the bench into a leadership role, driving both the technical TRL advancement and the company's growth.
- Entrepreneurship: You can turn technology into real‑world impact and profit.
- Action‑Oriented: You make things happen by setting relevant goals and achieving them.
- English Proficiency: High level of English is required; Dutch is a significant plus.
- Location: Currently based in the Netherlands or happy to relocate to the Leiden/Zuid‑Holland area.
