Additionally, we have been on the forefront of microbial genomics innovations and their industry applications. BaseClear offers a complete range of microbial genomics services including: genome sequencing, custom assay development, metagenomics, BIO-IT services, microbiome analysis and microbial strain characterization for regulatory approval.

For a growing company in booming industry, we are looking for candidates for the position of:

Business Developer Intern
(32 – 40 hours per week, minimum 6 months)

This traineeship is designed for candidates who want to build a commercial career in biotech. During the program, you will gain hands on experience in the essential skills needed for business development and sales in the life sciences sector.

You will learn how to identify and approach new clients, understand market opportunities, support lead generation, and contribute to commercial growth. You will also develop a strong understanding of the biotech market from a commercial perspective and learn how to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.

What will you be doing?

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Prospecting and lead generation
  • Market research and commercial analytics
  • Outreach techniques and client communication
  • Negotiation skills and commercial discussions
  • CRM systems and commercial software tools
  • Understanding biotech markets, customer needs, and service positioning
  • You will work closely with account managers, business developers, marketers, and scientists, and you will support ongoing customer and partner interactions.

    We are looking for a proactive, outgoing, and enthusiastic person with a strong interest in science and business. You enjoy speaking with people, learning new skills, and helping clients succeed in their projects. You have a go getter mentality and want to grow into a commercial role within biotech.

    Our team will benefit from someone with the following background and characteristics:

  • You hold a Master of Science degree, preferably a PhD, in genomics, biotechnology, molecular biology, biomedical sciences, or a related field
  • You have knowledge of genomics and next generation sequencing
  • Experience or knowledge in dPCR, cell and gene therapy, vaccines, or GMP environments is a plus
  • You are interested in sales, business development, and the commercial side of biotech
  • You are proactive, confident, and eager to learn
  • You communicate well and enjoy building relationships
  • Previous commercial experience is not required, but evidence of outgoing, client facing, entrepreneurial, or business related activities during your studies or previous roles is a plus

We offer an internship compensation of €390 gross per month.
