The Security Engineer develops, implements, and provides 3rd-level support for the Firm’s information technology infrastructure. The engineer will assist in the creation, implementation, and ongoing management (including forensics) of security-related systems. The position’s primary focus is the protection of data, systems, and facilities to ensure confidentiality and integrity, in compliance with organizational policies and standards. The Senior Security Engineer will also contribute to security awareness and training initiatives.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

The role involves 3rd-level support and engineering of the Firm’s security systems, analyzing processes, suggesting improvements, and interfacing with internal teams. Occasional travel is required for security services, audits, assessments, and forensics.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Architect, implement, and support solutions for the protection of Firm assets.
  • Develop, review, and maintain security policies and procedures.
  • Utilize security tools (SIEM, sniffer, IDS, vulnerability scanners, etc.) to identify issues and ensure policy compliance.
  • Generate reports for the Information Security Manager.
  • Maintain security information repositories (web, database, SharePoint).
  • Monitor and report on compliance with security policies.
  • Ensure appropriate access levels and security clearances.
  • Conduct security risk assessments and report findings.
  • Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Serve as an internal security consultant and support ticket resolution and change management.
  • Analyze and implement security controls as directed.
  • Support security-related hardware and software, utilizing remote access tools.
  • Utilize security tools such as SIEM, endpoint protection, DLP, two-factor authentication, vulnerability scanners, and packet analyzers.
  • Capable of moving materials or equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of security concepts and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
  • Experience with LAN and WAN.
  • Deep knowledge of data communications, hardware, and software.
  • Understanding of secure coding practices and system analysis.
  • Knowledge of data processing and communications concepts.
  • Familiarity with monitoring systems, vendor software, macros, utilities, and technical programs.
  • Analytical skills to assess facts, identify problems, and suggest solutions.
  • Ability to adapt and modify existing programs and systems.
  • Assist in training and informational sessions.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Self-motivated and able to work productively without supervision.
