Quantitative Analyst Internship

Do you have excellent analytical skills? Do you have a passion for trading and problem solving? Do you want to be part of a young energetic team and work in a dynamic environment? Then an internship as a Quantitative Analyst at Northpool might be suited for you!

Grasp the opportunity

Commodity markets are all around the news. The energy transition towards a green society is picking up steam and creating new energy market trends. Digitalization of energy and automated trading will be at the forefront of this transformation. As a Quantitative Analyst intern, you will be building predictive models, developing automated trading strategies and expanding our in-house analytical tools, which are essential for navigating highly uncertain, volatile and dynamical energy markets.

As an intern in the algorithmic trading department at Northpool, you will be working and learning at the same time. You will be fully involved in the entire strategy development process: from idea generation and analysis to back-testing and implementation. You will see results delivered immediately once these strategies are put onto the markets. During your internship, you will have the opportunity to work closely together with quants and have open discussions with traders and analysts from multiple desks.

Your challenge? Make a concrete impact by designing robust automated trading strategies and directly contributing to our departmental portfolio.

As a Quantitative Analyst intern, you will first learn the process and the tools being used. You will be educated on the basic concepts of building a trading strategy. After some practice, you will get to work on your own project. Optimize models, implement new ideas in a fast, robust, and agile way. All to maintain and improve a smooth running fully automated workflow!
