Our Finance department is currently looking for a Manager of Accounting and Finance Operations (full-time/Minimum of 32 hours per week) to join our team.
The finance department is responsible for managing all financial and procurement aspects of the Company’s operations including external and internal reporting, internal controls and treasury, FP&A, tax and procurement. Manager Accounting & Finance operations will execute activities in financial closing and reporting processes: preparation and reviewing of various accounting specifications to facilitate the monthly closing in SAP, preparing accounting position papers and preparing quarterly financial statements under IFRS.
Job details:
Closing:
- Ensure timely, complete and accurate closing activities together with the accounting team on various accounting topics
- Execute and document evidence of the periodic (SoX) controls during closing periods
- Work closely with our Director Internal control for continuous improvement in closing and operational processes and Sox requirements
- Prepare financial data in accordance with IFRS standards for 6-K, 20F and annual report, including XBRL reporting
- Manage communications with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues to ensure auditor agreement with company decisions on accounting disclosures, and issues
- Coordinate annual audit and quarterly review activities of external auditors
- Assist in monthly consolidation procedures
- Assist in compliance work related to the consolidated numbers e.g. CBS reporting
Technical accounting matters:
- Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance
- Provide IFRS interpretation and prepare technical memoranda (e.g. position papers) that document issues or new developments in a clear, logical and comprehensive manner
- Perform check of accounting guidance
Tax compliance:
- Ensure and monitor tax compliance on VAT, Wage tax (Dutch, UK and US) related matters, income tax
- Coordinate tax matters with our tax advisors
Other:
- Participate in other projects as required
- Work on ad hoc requests from management
Location: Leiden, NL (on-site)
We expect our Manager Accounting & Finance operations to have:
- Experienced and dedicated finance professional with at least 5 years of experience in Financial Controlling or one of the Big 4 Accounting firms
- Preferably work experience within Biotech / Pharmaceutical industry
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA/CA/ACCA/RA or equivalent)
- An excellent knowledge of IFRS, and preferably also of SEC rules, combined with the ability to research and propose company positions on complex accounting issues
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation
- Ability to oversee day-to-day operations of the accounting team
- Experience with Merrill Bridge or similar reporting tools a plus
- Experience with SAP and Basware is a plus
- Experience with IFRS 2 is a plus
- Experience with ESG/CSRD reporting is a plus
