We are currently looking for enthusiastic interns for the Biophysical and Protein Analytics team of the Analytical Development department within J&J Innovative Medicine (formerly Janssen Biologics).
Start date is as soon as possible. You will be available for at least 6 months, 32 to 40 hours per week.

who are you
Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science or other relevant studies. A good command of the English language is a requirement (both verbally and in writing).
Furthermore, it is a plus if you have developed other talents through extra curricular activities, such as a side job or association work.
- You have interest or experience in bioanalysis (UPLC/HPLC, capillary electrophoresis, DLS, MALS, Mass Spec, IR. Practical experience in mass spectrometry is highly appreciated
- You have knowledge of MS office. Knowledge of Python, R or Empower 3.0 is an advantage
- Fluent English, both verbally and in writing
- Investigative mentality
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent analytical skills
what will you do
In addition to gaining substantive knowledge, you will have the opportunity to participate in projects within the BPA teams. These are challenging projects with work that can be included in a thesis and/or publication.
- To define Adeno Associated Virus particles that have been genetically engineered to provide therapeutic benefits. The part that could be investigated is the use of Ion Exchange chromatography to determine important therapeutic characteristics
- Using FFF MALS on saRNA Lipid Nanoparticles for the capture of multiple Critical Quality Attributes within a single assay
- The utilization of exploratory Process Analytical Tools (PAT) and real time testing to enrich process development of genet therapeutic products
- Use of the protein analytical toolbox for manufacturing processes, product characterization and quality evaluation at all stages of clinical development. This is testing quality attributes and finding new analytical solutions to answer questions

The Biophysical and Protein Analytical (BPA) development team within the Analytical Division, is part of Johnson&Johnson Innovative Medicine. The BPA team focuses on analytical development and process support for a diverse portfolio of products ranging from Cell and Gene therapy to Process Analytical Technology and Protein Therapeutics. The BPA team has developed extensive, industry-leading expertise in developing analytical tools to understand these advanced therapeutic products.
